Jump At The Sun With Zora Neal Hurston***messymandella***Happy B-Day!

Mrs. Zora Neal Hurston, you  knew I remembered YOUR day!

You gave women voices that would never get a chance to motivate others, without you opening up that door.

Every race, color and sexual preference deserves the chance to  “Jump At The Sun.”

You are part of the reason women in the Harlem Renaissance have dignity  and have a story.

When women are depicting the Harlem Renaissance they walk in the room in any artistic piece they have pride, because of you!

You made it possible for women to spread their ideology  and  the world to respect folklore, and documentaries  from  women of color.

You paved the way for me to tell stories that may not be socially acceptable, but audible and authentic.

I don’t appreciate or slightly bit agree with  your ideology on segregation and highly conservative views, but you are the reason my opinion even counts.

Mrs. Hurston you will always be the reason our “Eyes are watching God.” and you deserved more respect in your life.

Women in literary and Feminists studies would not even exist without you!

You   gave me the voice to live by my views and speak from my heart to help our people.

Thank you for that  voice.

You gave Sista’s like me a chance to express themselves, discover their self-worth and to also “Jump at the Sun.”
