“Thousands of national and international supporters to Free Sara Kruzan were patiently awaiting some response after the deadline on Sara’s final appeal, July 19th. Today, July 24th 2012 we received our response. Paul Zellerbach, the District Attorney of Riverside County, California, requested a 60 day extension in his decision as to whether or not Sara Kruzan will be released with time served. His request was granted. While some may be saddened or enraged by Sara’s continued habitation in an honors dorm, inside a women’s facility in the State of California, Free Sara Kruzan’s team of international supporters are ecstatic. An extension on Sara’s final appeal fairs better than it’s decline. The extension equals less than 60 days to rev our campaigns in top shape, to make a lasting impression regarding the status of women and children across the globe.
After 18 years and 5 months incarcerated, on September 18th, 2012, Paul Zellerbach has the power to declare the immediate release of Sara Kruzan. More than ever before, Sara’s worldwide supporters may now hold a key. Sara’s release is no less than a monumental event in the international human rights and anti-human trafficking movement. If you’re not yet familiar with Sara Kruzan, we will introduce you. Sara is the Harriet Tubman of anti-human trafficking. She is the minor who survived sexual assault, rape, illegal child- sex trafficking and intimate battering. She is the child who was threatened and coerced to take the life of the man who sold her body. She is the child who let off the shot that killed her captor when he was again about to rape her. She is the child who was sentenced to life in prison plus four years with no possibility of parole.”
“Sara Kruzan is the grown woman who is a sister and a friend to anti-human trafficking activists across the globe. Sara Kruzan is a voice of hope and strength. In spite of all she has survived, Sara is one of the sweetest, most optimistic people who you will ever come across or have heard about. Behind bars, Sara is a leader. If and when she is released from prison, there is no telling what Sara’s international movement may now achieve for child-sex slaves and human trafficking victims, worldwide. We’re in a pivotal hour in a united front to bring Sara home. We can not achieve this milestone alone. Join the movement to Free Sara Kruzan. Let’s all join forces for her freedom. Let’s become a part of anti-human trafficking history by contributing our monetary resources, unique talents and support to Free Sara. by Jesaka Sekmet Auset © 2012.” Free Sara Kruzan www.freesarakruzan.org

Dear Kamala, who had trafficked her as a child sex slave. Sara was 11 when this grooming process began. She was 16 when she was arrested in 1994. Instead of being charged with justifiable homicide or a sentence reflecting the severity of G.G.’s (Howard) abuse, Sara received Life without Parole. Sara has served 18 years in the state of California. In this time she has both educated herself and has received honors for her outstanding conduct. With the aid of supporters such as Human Rights Watch, in 2011, the governor granted Sara clemency, which reduced her sentence to life with the possibility of parole in 2020. Still, her release is not promised.” Let me introduce my friend Sara to you via a u-tube that was created by the Human Rights Watch. Sara is one of the most amazing human beings I can honestly say I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGL_p7BcJqk Please visit this website for more information, and other ways to fight for her freedom.
